ArtHome improves artists’ working conditions by providing them with tools to create financial stability in their own lives.

 

Creative Money: Tools for CHANGE

 

ArtHome’s CreativeMoney workshops and self-assessment tools help artists chart a course to financial literacy, personal financial stability, optimum credit access, small business success and income-appropriate homeownership. Designed by and for active artists, CreativeMoney utilizes the proven expertise of a board of financial advisors and the real world experience of 21st century art making.

Utilizing signature systems like : The Artist’s Core Strengths Strategy, Small Steps / Big Change Goal Setting and ArtHome’s custom built financial worksheets and tool-sets; we help artists imagine, chart and build a road to financial solvency, security and stability.

 

Examples of current workshops:
 

CreativeMoney Balance Workshop (2 Hour)

This class is built to help artists identify and utilize their native strengths to make real financial change in their lives and art practice. This artist-led class is a tool-filled step-by-step primer on how to:

  • Re-imagine the role of money in the artist's life
  • Build a secure financial future
  • Create a powerful personal validation system based on financial readiness
  • Actualize the financially balanced art-filled lives we want and deserve

CreativeMoney Homeownership (2 Hour)

This class is designed to help artists identify and utilize their native strengths to make income-appropriate homeownership a reality in their lives. Created to assist artists on all ends of the readiness spectrum (from 6 months to ten years from purchasing), this class lays out the steps, the local resources and the whys and why nots around owning a home.  It covers:

  • Why artists should consider owning a home
  • Easy steps you can take right now
  • How to build savings
  • How to improve your credit score
  • Steps in the homeownership process
  • How banks determine credit worthiness
  • Mortage strategies for independent workers
  • Local resources
  • Actualize the financially balanced art-filled lives we want and deserve

CreativeMoney Homeownership and Money Balance Workshop (2 Hour)

This class is built to help artists identify and utilize their native strengths to make real financial change in their lives and to make income-appropriate homeownership a reality. This class blends the highlight learning from the money balance workshop and combines it with teaching the steps to income-appropriate homeownership, local available resources and the whys and why nots around owning a home.

CreativeMoney Credit Basics  (1.5 Hour)

This class is designed to help artists understand and manage credit.  Taking a credit-as-asset approach, this class teaches artists to conquer debt, understand the value (and pitfalls) of credit and gives step-by-step instruction on how to build a strong credit score.

CreativeMoney Financial Bootcamp  (8 Hour)

The Creative Money Financial Bootcamp* helps artists: gain a clear understanding of their financial situation; build a plan for improving their financial well-being; and helps artists make tangible progress towards these goals; all in one eight-hour marathon session. Built to deliver results (even in one day), this class is designed to support artists at any level of financial fitness.

*This class requires that participants come with the following documents:  completed spending log, current monthly mortgage/rent payment, current monthly car loan/lease payments, recent monthly gas/oil bill totals, recent monthly electric bill amount, recent monthly water bill amount, current monthly student loan payment, recent monthly grocery bills, rurrent monthly insurance payments, last month’s statement for each credit card and a credit report (can be obtained by ArtHome on behalf of the participant).

On Feb. 25th, 2013, Arthome takes it's Personal Finance Bootcamp Training to Portland, ME. for all participants of the Individual Development Account(IDA)/Match Grant Savings Program, in partnership with Assets for Artists.

January 29-31:  ArtHome participates in the ArtPlace Creative Placemaking Summit 2013, in Miami, Florida.

 

The ArtHome, Personal Finance Bootcamp Training sessions travel to Lowell, Boston and Pittsfield (Nov. 30-Dec. 2), as part of the Massachusetts IDA Program, in conjunction with Assets for Artists.

On November 16th, ArtHome will be presenting at "Giant Steps", a conference in Minneapolis, MN. which is meant to "connect like-minded souls and share valuable resources...find new ways of conquering old problems and to find new possibilities for different types of collaboration."
